Tripura announces insurance for poll staff

The Tripura government has announced insurance for about 60,000 personnel who are involved in conducting the forthcoming assembly election scheduled to be held on February 14.

In case of normal death, the victim’s family would get Rs 5 lakh and in case of death in insurgency-related death, the victim’s family would get Rs 10 lakh.

Similarly, in case of disability in normal accident, the victim would get Rs 2.5 lakh and in case of insurgency-related incident, it would be Rs 5 lakh. Polling personnel and securitymen, driver, cleaners and all other staff had been brought under the coverage of the insurance benefits.
