Diploma in Insurance Services from NIOS

NIOS, an autonomous organisation under Ministry of HRD, Govt of India is going to launch a new course on Diploma in Insurance Services from January 2012. The aim of this course is to impart a One Year Diploma in Insurance to candidates aspiring for a career in the insurance sector.

 

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS) was established in November,1989 as an autonomous organisation in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD), Government of India.

NIOS is providing a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level. It also offers Elementary level Courses through its Open Basic Education Programmes (OBE).Government of India through a gazette notification vested NIOS with the authority to examine and certify learners registered with it upto pre degree level courses.

Brief Details of the course are:-

Duration of the course : One year
Entry level            : 10+2
Enrollment            : Twice a year
Fee                      : Rs.5500/-  
Teaching hrs.       : 400 hrs spread throughout the year

Batch will commence from Jan 2012. The course is approved by Ministry of HRD, Govt of India.

There are five subjects in the course
(i) Business environment
(ii) Principles of Insurance
(iii) Practice of life insurance
(iv) Practice of General Insurance
(v) Legal Framework

Wanted Accredited Learning Centres
Institutions willing to become accreditated vocational centres of NIOS all over India may apply alongwith the demand draft of Rs. 5000 (for new centres of NIOS or Rs. 2500-for NIOS existing AVI’s) in favour of Secretary , NIOS payable at concerned Regional centre.
