Motor Vehicles Act: DFS requests a compliance effort from insurers

In order to guarantee adherence to the Motor Vehicles Act, the Department of Financial Services invited private sector general insurance companies to work with state governments and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to organize a special drive.

"Several critical issues having implications for the general insurance sector" were discussed during a meeting presided over by DFS secretary Vivek Joshi, which included the General Insurance Council and the CEOs of private sector general insurance companies.

In order to accelerate the expansion of health insurance, Joshi also requested that the private insurers work with the Ministry of Health to expand cashless facilities and standardize treatment costs.
