Life Insurance News: NMC’s Diwali gift: Insurance policy for girl child

In a Diwali gift to girls in families living below poverty line (BPL), Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) standing committee has approved  an insurance policy for all girls born after June 6, 2012. The beneficiary girl child will get Rs 1.24 lakh on attaining the age of 21, without  any investment from her or the family. Insurance News: Government of Maharashtra to introduce insurance scheme for women folk artistes

The chief minister of Maharashtra Mr. Prithviraj Chavan recently said that the government is planning to introduce an insurance scheme for women folk artistes to bring them at par with their male counterparts.

Speaking at the inauguration of All India Women Folk Artistes convention in Mumbai, he said, “Women artistes have always been relegated to the background. The state government will try to accord appropriate status to the artistes.” Read more
