Medical insurance claims racket busted

The police on Thursday arrested three persons after busting a racket of claiming reimbursement of medical expenses by presenting fake documents of insurance and hospital bills.

The accused — C. Srinivas, B. Sharath Kumar and N. Venkateswarlu — were believed to have defrauded several insurance companies to the tune of Rs. 1 crore, Commissioner’s Task Force Additional DCP Suhas Chaturvedi said.

An amount of Rs. 3.8 lakh was recovered from them.

The gang had created fake medical bills and other documents in names of different software company employees and presented them to insurance companies.
