HC notice to National Insurance, IRDA

The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has asked the respondents to file a reply before 31st October

The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court has sent notices to National Insurance Company and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) on a petition filed by Nathmal Chandak—an engineer.

Mr Chandak was working as surveyor and loss assessor for various insurers, including the National Insurance for more than three decades, according to media reports.

A division bench including justices Bhushan Dharmadhikari and Ashok Bhangale has asked the respondents to file a reply before 31st October. The court has posted the petition for final disposal on the same date, the reports added.

Mr Chandak has alleged stoppage of work to him by the insurer without informing him. He further said that the decision to not use his service is stigmatic and contrary to the procedure as followed under IRDA rules. VR Mundra pleaded on behalf of the petitioner.
