The BIMTECH Insurance Lab can also deal with any other matter relating to any aspect in the field of insurance as decided by the PGDM-IBM programme. The BIMTECH Insurance Lab will focus on research based studies with the help of BIMTECH students and faculty. The LAB can use resources from BIMTECH or from other credible, professional & well established bodies and organisations. [BIMTECH INSURANCE LAB is loosely based on the POVERTY LAB of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The MIT POVERTY LAB also has affiliates outside of US, mainly in Africa and Asia.] The BIMTECH Insurance Lab is a research centre working to reduce protection gap by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. We believe in investing in rigorous research which is essential for mapping the gaps and for finding solutions to India’s greatest challenges in this area working with implementing partners, affiliated professors and eventually to conduct randomized impact evaluations to test and improve the effectiveness of relevant programmes.
  • To develop research temperament and skill sets among students to deal with sustainability in socio-economic context.
  • To give students an exposure to identify insurance business dynamics for improving their decision taking capability
