Oriental Insurance Company to pay Rs.1.5 crore to road accident victims

Oriental Insurance Company has been directed by a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) to pay a compensation of about Rs.2 crore to the families of two victims who died in a road accident earlier this year. MACT judge Sanjiv Jain ordered the Oriental Insurance Company, with which the offending vehicle was insured, to pay nearly Rs.1.5 crore to the family of deceased Sultaan Singh. Insurance News: Delhi Police awarded Rs 22,000 compensation

The office of the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police have been awarded a compensation of over Rs 22,000 by a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) here in a road mishap in which a PCR van was rammed from behind and suffered damage. MACT Presiding Officer Nirja Bhatia directed New India Assurance Company Limited, with which the offending vehicle was insured, to pay the amount to the official authorities. United India Insurance pays Rs 13 lakh compensation in road accident case

The family members of a man, who died in a road mishap due to rash driving of a tempo in which he was travelling, have been awarded a compensation of nearly Rs 13 lakh by a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) here. The Tribunal directed the United India Insurance Company Ltd, with which the offending vehicle was insured, to pay Rs 12,96,100 to the wife, two children and the parents of victim Shailender Kumar Mehto. National Insurance Company to pay Rs 25.17 lakh as compensation

The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) has granted a compensation of Rs 25.17 lakh to the parents of a youth, who was killed in a road accident in 2010.

The MACT asked National Insurance Company Limited, with which the bus was insured, to pay the money to the parents of Akshay Soloman, who had died after it hit him from behind. “I award Rs 25.17 lakh as compensation with interest at the rate of 7.5 per cent per annum including interim award, if any from the date of filing the petition (December 13, 2010) …, in favour of the petitioner and against the respondents on account of their liability being joint and several. Motor Insurance: CRPF employee awarded Rs 6.11 lakh as compensation

A CRPF employee, who suffered 54 per cent permanent disability in a road mishap here, has been awarded over Rs six lakhs as compensation by a Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal which deducted 25 per cent of the total damage saying the victim was driving his bike in an inebriated state. Read more
