Reliance Life Insurance appoints Anup Rau as CEO

Reliance Life Insurance today announced the appointment of Anup Rau as the new chief executive of the company. His appointment is however subject to the approval from Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA).

Rau succeeds Malay Ghosh who was president and executive director of Reliance Life Insurance.

“Malay Ghosh will continue to guide the company as a member on the Board,” said Sam Ghosh, CEO of Reliance Capital of which the insurance arm is a part.

“We look to strengthen our leadership position in the life insurance business with him at the helm”, added Ghosh. Rau will also be on the board of Reliance Life Insurance. Before Reliance Life Insurance Rau was with HDFC Life Insurance as the head of sales and distribution.
