How to enroll for Chartered Insurance Institute,(CII) London Exams

 

Want to appear for the examinations conducted by Chartered Insurance Institute, London. Here is the procedure to enroll for the examination.

  1. The Associates and Fellows of Insurance Institute of India can enter for the CII examinations and take up the Advanced Diploma in Insurance qualification of the CII at a discounted rate
  2. The minimum credits necessary for any candidate to be eligible for completion of the Advanced Diploma in Insurance according to the new framework of the Chartered Insurance Institute is 290 credits. The exact details are provided below:
Completion rules:
  • 290 credits in total are required. Minimum of 205 credits at Diploma or Advanced Diploma level, with 150 at Advanced Diploma, rest of the credits can be achieved from the certificate level units
  • 3 compulsory units:
    • (M05) Insurance law; and
    • (M92) Insurance business and finance OR (530) Economics and business
  • plus one of the following:
    • (820) Advanced claims; or
    • (930) Advanced insurance broking; or
    • (960) Advanced underwriting
  1. The Associates and Fellows of Insurance Institute will be granted recognition of prior learning credits as per the scheme of accreditation.   2. The Associates and Fellows can get the balance credits by passing CII’s Diploma/ Advanced Diploma exams in order toachievethe ACII designation.
  3. The candidates desirous of getting recognition of prior learning accreditation from the CII will need to first get their AIII / FIII certificates attested by a CII member. And send the attested results and transcripts along with a duly filled accreditation form to the CII customer serviceteam in London by post.   4. The candidates should then contact the Customer Service Department of the Chartered Insurance Institute directly to register for their exams.   5. The Examination Application form is available on the CII website – www.cii.co.uk. The candidates can download the examination form and fill in the same.
  6. The candidates cannot register for the examinations of the CII Online under this scheme of arrangement.
  7. The application form along with either credit card details or a cheque in pound sterling drawn on a UK Bank made out to the Chartered Insurance Institute for the requisite amount towards the exam fees, membership fees, books, postage etc. to be sent directly to the CII. The details of fee structure are given in Schedule 1 below.
  8. The CII will send the books and other correspondence directly to the candidate’s registered address.
  9. The exam results will also be sent by CII directly to the candidates.
  10. The candidates who have acquired the 290 credit threshold and fulfills the above mentioned completion rules will be awarded Advanced Diploma in Insurance and can apply to use the designations ACII only if they have paid the annual membership fees of the CII and agreed to undertake the CII programme of continuing professional development.

  14. Non-III students can also apply for CII exams directly by contacting the CII customer service team or by registering on the CII website.
  15. The ACII exams are conducted in India at 14 locations, namely; Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, Pune, Lucknow, Bhopal, Patna, Chandigarh, and Trivandrum.

  1. I registered myself for LM1 2 years back and I failed. I want to reappear in the exam. Would it be considered as Fresh registeration or would it be reconsider as re sit ?
